This important research proved, for the first time ever and beyond a shadow of a doubt, that supplements containing high levels of nutrients slowed and possibly even prevented the progression of macular degeneration. But now there is new research showing that not only can vision be saved, vision can actually improve by adding additional nutrients to the AREDS Formulation. The Lutein Antioxidant Supplementation Trial (LAST) demonstrated visual improvement in patients taking specific high-dose supplements that include Lutein and Zeaxanthin. But here is where it is important not to make a mistake. Some vitamin supplements list the amount of Zeaxanthin in micrograms, or mcg. But this is only 1/1000th the amount of Zeaxanthin found in high quality formulas! Two major studies showed this ingredient raised the chances of dangerous side effects to the lungs in smokers. And most eye vitamins in pharmacies contain beta-carotene! Besides helping to fight colds, Vitamin C is a terrific antioxidant when taken in super-high concentrations.   Don't forget 400 milligrams of Vitamin E. AREDS showed that Vitamin E oil penetrated the macula and fought age related disease. But the vitamin formula that we're going to tell you about contains NATURAL (d-alpha) Vitamin E. Most of the big name brands contain ARTIFICIAL (dl-alpha) Vitamin E.   Take the 80 milligrams of Zinc Oxide recommended by AREDS and then reduce it by half? Why? Because AREDS also found that Zinc levels of 80 milligrams daily caused urinary tract and gastrointestinal side effects. Reducing Zinc to 40 mg per day makes the supplement tolerable and thus more likely to be taken on a regular basis.   Add Cupric Oxide. This doesn't help the Macular Degeneration, but it does prevent low blood counts caused by the high Zinc.   Add more than 5 milligrams of Lutein. Like the beta-carotene form of Vitamin A, Lutein is a carotenoid. It's a natural antioxidant derived from Marigold flowers. But it's 5 times better at getting into the Macula, where it does it work making the Macula healthier and stronger.  The supplement that we're going to tell you about contains 15 milligrams of Lutein! Some supplements list their Zeaxanthin in micrograms (mcg), which is only 1/1000th as potent as a milligram.
